Importance of this day Shlihe Mar Timothy and Titus
Today we rememebr Saints Timothy and Titus both of whom were desciples of St. Paul and considered as Apostles in the sense that they preached the Gospel and guided Christian communities at the early stage of the Church.
Mar Timotheus became Paul's missionary companion and his most beloved spiritual son. St. Paul consecrated him bishop of the great city of Ephesus. The saint was stoned to death thirty years after St. Paul's martyrdom for having denounced the worship of the goddess Diana.
Mar Titus was a fellow laborer of St. Paul who was made him bishop of Crete. Mar Titus rejoiced to discover what was good in others and drew the hearts of men by his wide and affectionate sympathy. Read more...
