Importance of this day Denha: Epiphany of Isho Mishiha
Nasranis celebrate Denha as an important Feast from early centuries onwards. The feast commemorates the Baptism of Jesus. In the Latin Church what is remembered on this Feast is the coming of the Magi from the East and their finding of Jesus with the help of the star which appeared to them in the East and showed them the way to the Holy Land.
Denha is celebrated by the Nasranies in two ways - Pindiperunnal ("Plantain trunk feast") and Rakkuliperunal ("feast with a night bath").

Prayer of the dayJesus the Eternal God and Son of the Eternal Father, You became incarnate, were baptized and manifested Yourself to give us the inheritance of sons and daughters, which makes us call Your Father "our Father", while we await our divine inheritance. Enlighten us, then, with the light of Your Baptism and Epiphany, that we may praise You on this Feast of Lights. For You are Light from Light and have come to enlighten all those who come into the world. We praise, thank and glorify You at all times.
