Importance of this day Fathers of the Church
The Fathers of the Church are commemorated on the Fifth Friday of Denha. Depending on the duration of the Denha season, this feast may be celebrated separately for the Fathers of Syriac, Greek and Latin Churches.

Prayer of the dayJesus the Servant of God, You raised up within Your holy Churches men and women who were powerful witnesses to Your saving truth, and You inspired them to incarnate living Tradition in clear insights which help Your faithful even now to rejoice in the abundant life You offer. Enable us to hand on that mystery, the same from all eternity, in authentic ways which will touch the hearts, minds and lives of those around us as did the great Ecumenical Teachers of the Faith.
