23 April 2017, Second Sunday of Qyamta
|Importance of this day||New Sunday|
Nasranis celebrate New Sunday on the first Sunday after Easter. On this day, the Church remembers the confession of Mar Thoma Shliha, "My Lord and my God". The Gospel reading on this day recounts the story of Isho Mishiha appearing to Mar Thoma Shliha in order to clarify his doubt about the resurrection. It is a custom among Mar Thoma Nasranis to make pilgrimage to Malayattoor mount, where Mar Thoma is believed to have prayed on his way to Mylapore.
Read reflections of the readings, prepared by Father Paul Kalluveettil, CMI .

|Prayer of the day||Isho who scatters the warmongers from our midst, grant that we may be renewed by the blood and water, which flowed from Your sacred and life-giving side. Strengthen our faith in You, in imitation of our father, Mar Toma Shliha who exclaimed, "My Lord and my God", as he saw You after Resurrection. May we be worthy of the bliss, which You promised to those who believe without having seen You.|
