28 July 2019, First Sunday of Qaita
Importance of this day Sunday of the 12 Apostles and Nusardeil
On the first Sunday of Qaita we celebrate the twelve Apostles and Nusardeil. Nusardeil is a Persian word which means God-given New Year Day. Thus this particular liturgical day appears to be one uniting together the heaven and earth in the Person of Jesus, Amman-hu-El God with us and the Church, His continuation on earth which is founded on the twelve Apostles.

Prayer of the dayJesus who emptied Himself taking the form of a servant, You chose Your twelve Apostles and granted them the Holy Spirit. You gave them the power to cure the sick, guide peoples and teach the nations. That mission has been handed on to us as Your apostolic Church. Grant us, through their prayers, their apostolic zeal and make us sharers in their heavenly joy.

Mystery of the Church - Church as the continuation of Jesus grows and spreads to all quarters of the world, produces flowers and fruits of martyrdom and holiness-Church shines as the Symbol of the heavenly Kingdom.

Age of Fruitfulness

Church becomes attractive through her holiness and martyrdom - not through this-worldly achievements - "Blessed are the poor in spirit...Blessed are the merciful...Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven" (Mt 5:3-12)
