Qeryana II (Old Testament Reading II): Acts 12:1-13

Prayer of the dayJesus who has revealed His Righteousness to all nations, You gave Your servant, Mar Qardag, the courage to witness to and the strength to confess You. In imitating his Lord and Master, he endured all sorts of tortures. In all our actions, may we witness to Your commandments and teachings, by keeping them and putting them into practice. Thus, should You call us to the supreme witness of martyrdom, we may be ready, as was Mar Qardag and thus glorify Your Holy Name.

Mystery of the Church - Church as the continuation of Jesus grows and spreads to all quarters of the world, produces flowers and fruits of martyrdom and holiness-Church shines as the Symbol of the heavenly Kingdom.

Age of Fruitfulness

Church becomes attractive through her holiness and martyrdom - not through this-worldly achievements - "Blessed are the poor in spirit...Blessed are the merciful...Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven" (Mt 5:3-12)
